I was just handed this in the studio which was featured in The Times back in Febuary and is by illustrator Stephen Collins. Stephen's website is worth checking out and  features great editorial, cartoons and caricature. Additionally Stephen has a blog Coelacanth Diaries which is a online sketch book of his ideas and adventures!

Hallmark US: Your Funny*ness Competition

A few posts back I mentioned the Hallmark US site and the competition site and blogs that they have which are truly great for inspiration and to see the volume of entries which they receive each month. Recently I was checking the site for the latest on their competitions which is currently Your Funny*ness and was bowled over by the finalists entries, one of my favourites was the above which I can relate to!
Be sure to have a look at both the competition site and also the behind the scenes blog which features some of the entries that did not quite make it.

Ps with Hallmark US been such a huge company with a fantastic Humour department they even have their own blog which they use for ideas and thoughts and just good fun, check out the Shoebox blog.

Here is a great blog site for you courtesy of the American Hallmark site. Tiny Little Division is the site specifically for the Humour department at Hallmark Cards Inc and is a really great place for inspiration or simply to have a laugh!

Farcus

What is Farcus?
Farcus is a newspaper comic feature syndicated to hundreds of newspapers world wide by Universal Press Syndicate. Although the comic still appears as re-runs in many papers, the creators are currently taking an extended break to pursue other creative pursuits. "We're good friends who have had thoroughly enjoyed fun collaborating since 1985 to produce thousands of comics," says Waisglass. "I'm sure we'll work together again in the not-too-distant future."

What is the comic about?
Farcus is a single panel comic about working life and other unnatural concepts. The comic is viewed by sick twisted people who waste valuable time laughing at these moronic episodes. Naturally, we fully endorse their views.

What does 'Farcus' mean?
Farcus (far-kis) 1. n. a complete moron. e.g. someone who thinks frozen orange juice comes from the Arctic; 2. n. a frustrating and futile business event, a non-existent reality, e.g., just down the hall and to your left.
