Morrisons M Saver Value Range

Morrisons Value range re-branded by Coley Porter Bell design agency. They were briefed to redesign over 350 products in the value range, as one of the years biggest briefs in the UK. The designs incorporate a bespoke typeface created by Craig Barnes for the simplistic product description, married with colourful hand drawn illustrations. Read more at Design Week.

The Faberge Big Egg Hunt

The Big Egg Hunt presented by Faberge sees 209 giant egg sculptures placed high and low across central London for over 6 weeks. These stunning pieces of unique and extraordinary art will capture the imagination of London; each one finely designed, crafted and decorated by leading artists from around the world. 

Each two and a half foot fiberglass sculpture will take its place in the hunt throughout the 12 egg zones across London, and come together for The Grand Eggstavaganza on the Easter weekend. View the entire collection in all its speggtacular glory from Thursday 5 ^th to Monday 9 ^th April.

A Golden Collection of 30 eggs will be sold at live auction on 20 ^th March with the rest of the eggs sold online. All proceeds from the auction go to charities Elephant Family and Action for Children.

Salvador Dali at Nunnington Hall

An exhibition by one of the world’s most famous surrealist artists has gone on display in North Yorkshire.

Nunnington Hall, near Helmsley is playing host to an exhibition of works by Salvador Dali, until Sunday, March 18.

Dali’s work is probably best known for its inclusion of lobster telephones and melting clocks depicted within surreal landscapes.

The exhibition is open daily, except Mondays, from 11am to 5pm. Normal admission applies.

Our lovely Studio Managers and Editorial Manager worked late last night to transform our mocking up station and inspiration area. It looks amazing and is very inspiring especially the Orla wallpaper!

I have a bit of an obsession with tea towels and ToDryFor is my favourite haunt for this obsession.

Starting in March 2008 Oxford based ToDryFor.com is a husband and wife team on-line boutique specialising in designer tea towels. As well as sourcing over 100 tea towels from numerous designers the duo produce their own ToDryFor range of artist-commissioned tea towels, promoting work by both prominent and up-and-coming artists and illustrators.

They regularly introduce new designs such as the small selection shown above by some very talented designers such as the lovely Gemma Correll.

Head over here now and adorn your walls with framed tea towels - they are way too nice to use to dry the dishes!

The art and business of Surface Pattern Design E-Course

You may recall a little while back we blogged about the fantastic collaboration between the lovely Rachael Taylor and Beth Nicholls, founder of Do What You Love to create "The art and business of Surface Pattern Design".

Well I am thrilled to be able to feature a small selection of the gorgeous work of the students of part 1.

Module 2 of the course"Creating your professional identity" launched on the 30th of January and Module 3 "Monetising your designs" will launch 16th of April.

The great news is that you can now register for the next course which will commence 23rd April 2012. For full details see here - I'd highly recommend you do!

Scottish designer Donna Wilson brings her playful textiles to Yorkshire Sculpture Park this winter, drawing inspiration from the landscape to create an eccentric world of knitted trees and curiosities featuring her trademark patterns and colours alongside exclusive limited edition prints. Named ‘Designer of the Year 2010’ by Elle Decoration, Donna is known for her knitted creatures, textiles, home-wares and furniture.

The exhibition will run until 26th February 2012 so plenty of time to plan your visit.

Tigerprint are delighted to be sponsoring an event at Huddersfield University which will see Donna give a professional practice talk today. Unfortunately tickets for the event are now sold out but we will hopefully bring you a few pics from the event tomorrow.
