With Valentine's Day slowly creeping up on us I thought I'd share a few of my favourites in the range this year at M&S.

Kiley Victoria is a UK illustrator who was recently awarded runner up in our Xmas Surface Pattern Competition with the design at the top of the post.
Kiley Victoria has very commercial style which is complimented by the lovely use of colour palettes which evoke a sense of nostalgia in the designs.

Tammie bennett is a relatively new contributor to our monthly design competitions and she has already proved to be a very strong contender coming runner up in our Xmas Surface Pattern Competition with the design shown at the towards the top of this post.
Tammie blogs about being a mom to 3 cool kids, a wife to one great man, and her quest to become an artist / illustrator / surface designer.

Like many we love the retro and stylish Polaroid images that are so hard to come by these days.
"Who hasn’t experienced the unique feeling of holding a Polaroid in their hand and watching the image gradually reveal itself, or doesn’t remember the shiny photographic paper, the smell of the developing emulsion and the ninety seconds of anticipation waiting for the instant image to emerge? All photographs, but particularly Polaroids, reflect a desire to record that one special moment forever".
Prepare to be amazed by Polaboy a German-based duo Jirko Bannas and Oliver Seltmann. They take polaroid images submitted by their clients and blow them up to ten times their normal size. Then they create the most perfect wall lights out of them. Imagine having your favourite holiday snaps illuminated on your wall, or a picture of a loved one to light up your night.

Pencils Paper Scissors are an illustration collective created by Joanne, Maddie and Kerri-Ann who all share a love of handmade illustrations, children’s books and woodland creatures.
Over the past few months, the Pencil Paper Scissors girls have been working away on their first collaborative project - a circus-themed colouring book. They have been inspired by red and white stripes, circus animals and clowns, and now the book is all finished, and is finally about to be printed.

I simply cannot stop looking at these gorgeous shots as shot by famed fashion bloggers and real-life couple Garance Doré and The Sartorialist who pay homage to love in romantic shoot for Tiffany’s latest ad campaign.
"Beautiful couples, Parisian streets, bike rides, matching mugs of steaming coffee, long walks, New York art, love letters and fine shoes - the small, personal details of relationships are all rendered public by the famously in-love fashion bloggers.
Using Instagram filters - the favourite of many a tweeting iPhone user - the photos are given a soft, aged edge, adding to their charm.
The results can be seen on the Tiffany website, where images can be liked and flagged by fans.
The jewellers are now inviting amorous members of the public to send in their own, specially significant snapshots. The best pictures will be featured the Tiffany's True Love in Pictures gallery - and happily for particularly lovestruck, there is no limit on the amount of entry images.
This week, photos are requested that answer: 'You're my true love because ______.'

My lovely colleague Laura recently came across Hotel Exchange in Amsterdam.
"Hotel Exchange is a new development in Amsterdam and is a collaboration between Fashion & Architecture. The rooms have all been design by Fashion graduates and alumni of the Amsterdam Fashion Institute (AMFI). The hotel is part of an urban renewal programme in the heart of Amsterdam's Damrak neighborhood. The rooms vary from 1 - 5 star so cater for all budgets and would make for a very interesting stay".
The deadline for our latest competition, What is Love was Friday 6th January. However after some consideration we have decided to extend the deadline by a week to compensate for the busy Christmas holidays. The new deadline is now Friday 13th January - so please make sure your entries reach us by midnight on this date.
