The London International Animation Festival proudly showcases the whole spectrum of creative animation, showing that animation is for everyone...
Founded in 2003, LIAF aims to dispel the popular misconception that animation is just cartoons for kids by screening the broadest possible range of intelligent, entertaining and provocative current films on offer from all around the world as well as retrospectives and specialised sessions from countries and animators who don't normally elicit such attention.
The annual 10-day Festival in August and September includes gala premieres, retrospectives, Q&A's with filmmakers, workshops, audience voting, and the Best of the Festival screening. Since this year LIAF has become much more than an annual Festival – they are programming more events, tours, screenings and masterclasses all year-round to as many cities and countries that invite them.

As something of you may of heard today is my last day in the Tigerprint studio before I head off to get married and go on honeymoon to wonderful Italy.
I leave you in the very good hands of my lovely colleagues Laura and Graham who will be looking after both the competitions and the design blog.
I'm sure they'll be happy to help with any questions you may have and they can be contacted via:
I've had a lovely day of treats in the studio and had a lovely send off. Have a great few weeks everyone and I'll be back Monday 12th September.

PhotosbyRosie is the oh so beautiful photography of Rosie Hillman who coincidentally was one of our runners up in the Female Photography Competition.
Really stunning compositions which stir up whimsical summer memories and make you go ahhhhhh. Wonderful work and you can adorn your room with it by heading over to Rosie's etsy store.
Were excited to be running two competitions this month and we've just launched the second, Floral Photography.
This is because we were so wowed by the Female Photography Competition which we judged yesterday. So make the most of the summer sun and get shooting some gorgeous florals.
Have fun!
Well we had such a fun morning judging the Female Photography Competition and were pretty excited about the collection of images we've pulled together. So much in fact that this month as well as the winner receiving a monetary prize we'll be offering the runners up one too! All that and they get a fab design book too!
So without further ado this month's winner is 'Ellie's Shoes as shown above by Pandaslovebamboo. All the judges loved the composition of this image and the fab use of colour. It's a really contemporary image and bang on trend. Congratulations!
The runners up are as follows:
A really well composed shot here by Stephanie and bang on trend with showing only the legs. This also makes it very commercial as it doesn't become a limited send by showing a persons face. We could see this image working with a variety of backgrounds too. Well done Stephanie.
This entry really stood out as the composition is really contemporary and the subject matter perfect for a female send. A really beautiful and commercial entry - well done Rosie.
We don't often tend to show people's faces on our products as it tends to limit the send. However this stunning entry really changed our minds. A great composition and colour treatment. Great work Terri.

I'll let you in on a little secret here, this entry was one of my favourites. It's a beautiful composition and I would love to send this as a blank to friends. The treatment really adds to this and again it's a quirky yet contemporary entry which really stood out. Fantastic Nicola.
So a huge congratulations to our winner and runners up and we'll keep you posted on where these entries end up.
The judges were really impressed with the quality of entries and there are some amazing photographers and stylists out there that we would love to work with.
We will be contacting a few of you with a view to purchasing your photos as we were really blown away by them especially some of the floral photography. Hence why we've decided to add an extra competition this month in addition to Calendars and Diaries. Floral Photography will be launched tomorrow so check back for updates.
In the meantime you all deserve a huge thank you from the team at Tigerprint for all your hard work this month - well done guys!
Vic
So we launched our Calendars and Diaries competition last week which I hope your all looking forward to.
To start the ball rolling I've pulled a few Tigerprint examples together which are now in store in Marks & Spencer.
Hope your feeling inspired!
The latest news from the Tigerprint Gifted Competition is that judging will take place Tuesday 6th September 2011.
The team are busy preparing all the wonderful entries for the panel of judges to peruse on the day. Make sure you check the Gifted website and Facebook page for all the latest news.
Good luck to everyone who entered!
The Female Photography Competition ended last night and all entries are now on-line in the competition gallery. Judging will take place next Tuesday morning with live updates here on the blog and Facebook and we can't wait!
The next competition is Calendars and Diaries which is something new for you to try your hand at but hopefully you'll love it just as much. So have a good look at the brief and relevant downloads and let us know if you have any questions.
We'll be holding a live Q&A session with the Design Managers who have set the brief in the next few weeks so look out for details.
Wednesday 24th August will be my last day in the studio for a few weeks as I head off to get married and go on honeymoon. I'll be returning Monday 12th September but in the mean time the lovely Laura and Graham will be on hand to upload your entries and answer any queries. I'll make sure I post their details before I leave next week.
So for now a big thank you to everyone who entered the Female Photography Competition and good luck for judging next week.
Have a great weekend :-)
