Claire Nicholson is a graphic designer, currently studying in Leeds at Leeds College of Art.
Claire has a strong interest in illustrative, print based media, namely packaging, promotion and poster design. The characters above are from a self initiated project of Claire's which i think are so quirky and adorable, they really do make me smile!

Below is a quick Q&A session that Lexi, the proud owner of Love. Obsess. Inspire very kindly granted us.

What are three to five words you would use to describe your work?
Clean, classic, and modern
What inspires you?
It's funny... LOI is my way of documenting all (well a good chunk) of the things that catch my eye on a day-to-day basis, but it's not what inspires me to better my blog, design work, or career. It's the women behind the works, behind the blogs!
Ez from Creature Comforts, Erin from Design for Mankind, Jena from Modish... these are the women who inspire me! Reading their stories, hearing about their endeavors, and seeing the opportunities they have made for themselves reminds me that sometimes you don't find your career, your career finds you!
What was your first job? When/how did you know you wanted a career in art?
My first job was during the summer at a local gardening center pulling weeds and watering plants (not my idea of fun in the sun), but it was not what led me to pursue a career in the field of art! Nope, I was lucky enough to have some great influences in my life; two wonderful parents that encouraged my love for the arts and one amazing art teacher, Mr. Smith. He was always pushing me to explore my creativity and was the one that taught me how I could use my artistic skills to my advantage. If I did poorly on a test... I found a way to use art to earn extra credit. If I want to skip a class (usually Spanish)... I volunteered to paint a mural in the school gymnasium. By my senior year of high school, I realized how I could fit something I loved into a life that I loved! And though I am still working out the kinks... I've never looked back!
Which design blogs, books or designers etc can you not live without?
Blogs, blogs, blogs... I just adore them! It's like being a teenager in love, I have a new "crush" ever week, but only a few have a lasting place in my heart... just to name a few:
Simple Blueprint
Creature Comforts
Gatherings Spriggs
Then there is everything and anything Martha Stewart! I love it all... it's actually has become quite the obsession and has made a huge dent in my bank account.
Last, but not least is Anthropologie! Talk about all-around fabulous design!
What’s next?
You know what, I've been asking myself that very same thing and to tell you the truth... I have no idea! What I do know is change is coming and I'm ready for it!!

How did you know you wanted to work in design?
Drawing and creating things were my first love, ever since I was a child – even though back then I wanted to be an architect.
What are the inspirations/ influences for your design work?
On the one hand it's the sheer unlimited phantasy of children. But also Life in itself is so inspiring, I'm just trying to open eyes and ears and then let my imagination run free.
The future, what are your next plans?
Recent projects have allowed me to branch out and try my hand at stationery, greeting cards, paper goods and gift wraps.
