We recently ran an E-Greeting Competition which is a relatively new area that were exploring here at Tigerprint and it was really great to see the variety of entries and interest which we received.
The judges selected the entry above by Jessica Allan as the overall winner as they felt that this idea would work really well for a variety of occasions. The limited colour palette and choice of font was good and added to the 'aged' feel of the design.
Four runners up were also selected:
'Cake' was a great concept and the sophistication of the illustration style really demonstrated this well. The combination of concept and caption works really well and the last frame is a really nice image to end on.
The judges really liked the quirkiness of this entry and the colour usage created a great impact.
It's easy to imagine this concept working well through its use of naivety which eventually leads to sophisticated humour.
The judges really felt that the styling of this entry was unique and the style of illustration is really nice and contemporary. The illustrations really emphasized the ' hand drawn' quality. It's a really nice technique of adding a red highlight within the flower and hat.
The judges said that this was a really lovely idea with the birds releasing the letters from the balloons. You can imagine this working really well as an animation and even an on-line game!
The judges felt that generally all the entries showed a sense of humour with a competence and ability to convey a message using varied styles. All entries were judged on their commercial awareness with an eye for something different yet appealing. This criteria was fulfilled in every case and we had a very pleasing response to a brief that asked a lot.
We will be developing ideas for E-greetings from now on and will hopefully be adding a section to the blog soon where you can continue to send us your ideas.
Thank you to everyone who entered and congratulations to our winner and runners up.
P.s Don't forget to enter the Christmas 'Mum' Card Competition.
