Judging took place today for the Christmas surface pattern 2012 competition and I was in alot of trouble as I forgot the sweets!
Never mind we got on with our job which was very enjoyable as there were so many wonderful entries.
The entry above by Paula is our overall winner as the judges felt it was very commercial and very transferable across products. Well done Paula!
In addition the judges selected four runners up who will all receive the amazing Donna Wilson book:
By Tammie
Tammie has used a gorgeous colour palette here which is very fresh and on trend for Christmas. Great work Tammie!
By Suzyspellbound
Wow an amazing entry with so much detail. The design makes a dramatic and intricate pattern but would also break down into smaller design elements for additional designs. Very clever Suzy!
By Rebecca
Rebecca has used a great fresh colour palette here combined with lovely illustrative elements to create this very commercial design. Well done Rebecca!
By Kiley Victoria
It was wonderful to see type elements as a pattern which Kiley Victoria did with two of her entries. The poinsettia adds a lovely seasonal touch too to this vintage style pattern. Great work!
A very big congratulations to our winner and runners up you all did an amazing job. In addition a huge thank you to you all for entering the quality of submissions was very high and it was wonderful to see so many different patterns.
Don't forget you only have a few days left to enter our latest competition, What is Love? which will close at midnight Friday 6th January.
In addition if you fancy something a bit different we have a gift packaging competition which will close Thursday 26th January.
Hope to see your entries very soon!
