I adore post and these days I really don't get a lot of physical post so imagine my delight when I received a curious package from Jessica Hogarth.
I was ecstatic to discover a wonderful bundle of gorgeous design courtesy of Jessica Hogarth who was the winner of our Word Up competition back in 2011.
Jessica's designs are stunning and I love her illustrative style and the wonderful atmosphere her designs evoke.
"Jessica Hogarth Designs offers unique prints, cards and home wares featuring hand drawn designs inspired by a blend of Parisian life and the historic buildings and seascapes of the North Yorkshire coast.
Jessica’s designs begin as illustrations in black pen on paper before they are digitally scanned and enhanced with subtle colour schemes. Her final products are produced using both digital and hand printed methods making for a varied range. Jessica’s entire collection prints and products are designed and manufactured in the UK, an industry she is keen to continue supporting.
Her use of bold colour combined with playful illustrations make for a collection of quirky yet sophisticated designs. The prints and patterns typically depict images of daily life, places Jessica has visited or feature strong influences from Robin Hoods Bay and the Yorkshire coast".
Jessica's career is going from strength to strength since graduating in 2010 and this year a colloboration with Lab C to launch of a range of ‘designer edition’ iPhone cases. The seven cases produced with Jessica’s designs feature a mixture of both graphic abstract patterns and highly illustrative conversational prints. A free iPhone app is also available for download, meaning the designs can be used as decorative phone wallpapers.
We had a fun filled Easter themed day yesterday and as promised here are the results of the Character Challenge. From left to right, created by our fabulous designers Lucy C, Abbi G, Nicola W & Yvonne, and below by Bruno.
The Tigerprint Studio have been set an Easter Challenge this morning, they had an hour to create another studio member from a boiled egg & craft materials. The results look fantastic and if you've been in the studio let us know if you recognise anyone.
Check out our facebook pages later on today to see who won.
The lovely designers in the Tigerprint Studio have been taking part in a handdrawn type workshop today. Everyone got involved for a quick power hour as a way to learn a new skill, a new style or simple to free up their illustrative styles. They usual work with our huge font library so its a nice change to seem some great styles & techniques coming through.
We can't share all of the outcomes but I hope the images above give you a taster. The designers could use a mixture of pens / inks / brushes.
