Just a quick note to let you know that Hallmark Cards will be featured
on the BBC TV programme "The Apprentice" next Wednesday 30th April at
9.00pm. Filmed several months ago at the Hallmark London design studio
and it is finally airing next week. The two "Apprentice" teams were
asked to create either a new card sending occasion or a new range of
greeting cards and worked with 2 of our designers in developing them.
These concepts were then presented to 3 retailers, comprising of
Clintons, Tesco and Celebrations.
The new Sony 'Foam City' and is about to hit our screens,
advertising Sony's cameras : Alpha DSLRs, Cyber-shots, and Handycams.
In the ad, Miami becomes a 'soapy free-for-all when 120 million gallons
of bubbles are unleashed in the streets.' The world's largest foam
machine was custom-built for the shoot, and pumped out over 500,000
gallons of foam per minute. Previous Sony beauties include the giant
animated bunny rabbits in New York, the exploding paint building and
the millions of coloured balls in San Francisco. Beautiful. Watch it here
Following the suggestion of Cavecorner who recently left a comment I checked out the website of this great illustrator Rebecca Wetzler. They are really stunning illustrations and if you need any inspiration for the Fashion Illustration Competition I would certainly recommend this site.
P.s thanks to Cavecorner for the great suggestion!
I came across this blog of Rachel de Ste. Croix following a great comment she left here. The blog was a lovely little find which I think Rachel only just began in March. It's a really nice example of a developing online sketch book. Rachel's illustrations are really fresh and vibrant, be sure to check out the blog.
For all you Beatrix Potter fans out there I noticed there is an exhibition on at the V&A until 2nd May 2008. It features the letters and illustrated manuscripts between Beatrix Potter and the writer Edward Lear. It may be worth checking out if your in the area and if you are lucky enough to see it please leave us a comment.

Great news- over the next few days some of the designer's from Tigerprint will be leaving feedback below your entries in the Easter Cute Character Competition gallery. Been as busy as they are they won't be able to comment on every entry but will try and do a varied selection so please keep checking the gallery to see the feedback. It would be great to hear what you guys think about us doing this on other competitions too?
We are really pleased to announce that the winner of the Easter Cute Character Competition is Paper Alligator with her entry shown above. A cheque for £200 will now be making its way to Paper Alligator. The judges felt that this entry demonstrated a fresh and contemporary approach to Easter Greetings cards. The great use of vibrant spring colours kept it acceptable for commercial use and overall the Birdy character was a little cutie!
Additionally we have the four runners up below in no particular order.
