I really love shugmonkeys detailed and magical illustrations. Beautiful patterns can be found within the clothing and surroundings of his characters. I also love the way he manages to blend different styles - old with new, east with west, illustration with pattern......
Hes also got a myspace where he writes funky music too! Check it out!
This is the work of CJ O'Neill, a tutor from my university (who is very lovely by the way!). She creates wonderful ceramic lights and tabletop objects, with beautiful organic pattern creating a "feeling of calm, quiet nostalgia, a sense of belonging, contemplation and thoughtfulness"

I love the beautiful Solas lighting collection and thought these laser cut ceramic plates were really interesting. See more of CJ's work here
As well as having a really clean & a "very now" illustration style, created by Letter Press, designer Alex Winjin also provides personalized stamps so you can be completely coordinated when sending your cards. A must have for all image concious designers. Check out the site for more stuff.
These illustrated press and poster ads for Robinsons are a collaboration between agency BBH and illustrator Adrian Johnson. Raise Them On Robinsons is the strapline for the campaign and each ad is designed to appeal to mums looking to give their children something good to drink made from natural ingredients.
Betsy Dunlap is an amazing calligraphic artist who I found via Design*Sponge She creates hand-rendered work to order, I love the style and perhaps we could do something in this style in another typography workshop? See her site here
I found Stephanie Levy's website via another website listed on the print & pattern blog. Like the bold colours and mix of patterns with illustration. This sort of style might be good for home wall art?
Bea's Beastlies all have their own personality that comes of each one being totally unique. They have an uncanny knack of picking their owner themselves. People usually go away with the first one that caught their eye.
The Website illustrations are a little more convincing than the 'plush' themselves. See for yourself.
Search for ways to be more energy efficient with an energy efficient search engine!
When your screen is white, be it an empty word page, or the Google page, your computer consumes 74 watts, and when it's black it consumes only 59 watts. Mark Ontkush wrote an article about the energy saving that would be achieved if Google had a black screen. Taking into account their huge number of page views, according to his calculations, 750 mega watts/hour per year would be saved.
In a response to this article Google created a black version of its search engine, called Blackle, with the exact same functions as the white version, but with lower energy consumption. Use it here.
And well done to our website for being green by being black.
