With all the technology that is available now, people in general are seeking a more simple life. We are looking back to nature and hand-crafts as a desirable way to escape from the hustle and bustle of the modern world and to also help the planet by using materials and methods that cannot harm the environment.
I have designed a simple and calming calendar to help organise the lives of women with an active working and social life (no children). This design leaves behind all traces of modern technology and depicts a time before mobile phones and home computers were common place.
The calendar base is made of natural cork board, with a natural wooden tray attached to hold pens and drawing pins.
Clippings taken out of magazines and photos of friends/family can quickly and easily be pinned onto the board.
The colour scheme is very subtle and has been chosen based on the predictions for 2012/13 and also with Marks & Spencer’s customer profile in mind. The egg cup print has been designed for the calendar to hang in the kitchen.
A handy hook has been placed on the front to hang door/car keys.
