My calendar is mainly aimed at the ‘Older Family’ or ‘Children left home’ customer profile, where the customer may have more leisure time . However, its design would be suitable for any customer that enjoys baking or pretty illustrations.
The calender displays a new baking recipe each month. The idea is that the customer can then purchase the ingredients to try traditional home baking. In this way the customer will feel a sense of achievement/ enjoyment as well as being able to share their baking with the family and loved ones. The process of making could also be shared with friends, loved ones or even young grandchildren.
The calendar design is very functional with a generous space for dates, birthdays, anniversaries with an additional space for reminders. It is hung on a magnetic board. At the end of each month the calender can simply be taken off the hook and changed to the next month. The rest of the board space contains a shopping list pad so that the customer can write their weekly shopping (maybe jot down ingredients from the recipe) and simply rip this off. It also contains a clip on pen and magnets to hold any cuttings or additional pieces to it.
The calendar is designed to be hung in the kitchen where baking is likely to take place. Its bright colour scheme is eye catching, aesthetically pleasing and would be a lovely feature to hang in the family home.
