Buttonprint 2008 Valentines Day Competition Winner
The brief is to develop a Valentines Day card for our 2010 range, which explores type as the main theme.
Consider quirky, classic, modern or traditional fonts, typed or hand written, as an integral part of the design or as a finishing caption.
You could cleverly combine illustration with words creating a humorous or quirky design or simply stick to the words themselves.
Think about who would be receiving the card, whether it would be male or female and the age of that person too. Go out onto the high street and do some market research, see what people are buying. Consider the customer you are designing for, Tigerprint work exclusively for Marks & Spencer.
You can explore the medium you use, whether you would like to do it handmade, painted, collage or digital.
Think about the colours you use also, not just using red and pink, what accent colours could you include but still in keeping with Valentine’s Day.
We have included some examples of our designs, which work well and are currently in our range, these are just for inspirations so don’t be afraid to submit your ideas. Originality is key!
Last years Valentines Day winner was lucky enough to have her design go through to this year’s range, which you can see in our examples.
