Illustration For A Children's Puzzle

Marks & Spencer is well known for it’s children’s puzzles and they have led the market in their formats and illustration styles for the past few years and has even won awards through parenting magazines! The aim of this brief is to design an illustration for a children's puzzle for one of two age groups (see the examples on the page).

The age groups are:
1-3 years: key themes such as opposites, colours, textures and basic numbers work well as a concept for illustrations.
3-6 years: these puzzles should be more complex and can include alphabet, counting and 3D constructions incorporated into the illustration.

Please consider carefully the age range for whom your illustration would be aimed and do some research to see what works successfully.

Deadline for the competition is Thursday 31st July 2008.

The format for entries must be jpeg at 72 dpi in RGB and 500 pixels if the format is square, for any other format you may send a swatch of the design at 500 pixels as well as an image of the full puzzle, which must not exceed a file size of 5MB. This is due to constraints that we have on the competition gallery. Please retain your original artwork at a resolution of at least 300 DPI at the intended size of your puzzle i.e. A2 should yours be selected. Please email all entries in this format (max 5 per entrant) together with a brief description of your work and your username (nick name) to Vic at vlem2@hallmark-uk.com

We will endeavour to upload your designs within 24 hours.
All entries are featured in our online Competition Gallery and the winning prize is £200 as well as the possibility of a placement at Tigerprint and your design may even feature in a future range!!!!
